Principal George has easy access to information on each student in his school (most building administrators are assigned special permissions with regard to viewing all gradebooks that pertain to teachers in the building). When parents call with questions, he can access information from teacher records regarding grades or scores for a particular course or standard, as well as information on the curriculum activities used in the classroom to develop competency and assess progress on any student performance expectations.

In a similar fashion, a Title 1 teacher or after school tutoring instructor may be given view access to Anne’s gradebook in order to better serve the specific needs of the students they and Anne both teach.
